We do it all ..
The patch is an Eagle carring our FSS squadron flag. I have incorporated the lighting bolt from both the SVS and MSS previous patches. I put six stars from the old MSS patch and the tourch from the old SVS patch. The latin verse in the banner says: FORCE, FAMILY, SERVE
This represents our unit providing support to the Air Force mission. The mission being airpower. It is a pair of hands supporting a F-22 Raptor.
I dont have a background in heraldry; however, I incorporated a portion of the MSS patch into the SVS patch to build my vision of the FSS patch

The old SVS patch design is on the left side and old MSS patch on the right side and they merge together to form the new FSS on the top. I kept the SVS Team Integrity on the bottom since I think it still applies to the new squadron. Also, I put 2008 on the patch to mark the year both squadrons merged.
Yellow and blue are the air force colors. Wreath is for achievement and merit. Torch is for knowledge. Stars are for the 5 flights and the 2 squadrons that merged.
Blue and yellow are for the Air Force. 5 Stars represent those for who we serve - Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard, Civilians, and Retirees. 3 Palm trees= 2 shorter trees represent the two squadrons that merged, the taller stronger tree is the new squadron. The trees are also symbolic of Florida. Muneris Excellentia means Excellence Service.
